Major Animal Husbandry & Fisheries Infrastructure Development Schemes in India

Breed Multiplication Farm (BMF) Entrepreneurship Scheme

Activities supported Construction of cattle sheds, purchase of equipment, procurement of elite bull mothers, etc.
Eligible entities Individuals, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Farmer Co-operative Organizations (FCOs), Joint Liability Groups (JLGs) and Section 8 companies.
Selection criteria Trained entrepreneur or employing trained experts for running the project. The entrepreneur must have owned land or leased land.
Financial assistance available The cost of model project with 200 milch animals is estimated at Rs. 4.01 crores. The subsidy will not exceed Rs. 2.00 crores (i.e. 50%).
Implementing agency National Dairy Development Board (NDDB)
Application process Submission of application (Expression of Interest) on the website of NDDB.

 

Dairy Processing and Infrastructure Development Fund (DIDF)

Activities supported Modernization of milk processing plants and machinery, replacement of old processing plants, installation of electronic milk adulteration testing equipment at village level, setting up of feed plants, godowns, cold stores, packaging plants, milk transportation vans/tankers, R&D laboratories, etc.
Eligible entities Cooperative Milk Unions, State Cooperative Dairy Federations, Multi State Milk Cooperatives, Milk Producer Companies, NDDB Subsidiaries, Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO)/ Self-Help Groups (SHGs) registered under State Cooperative/Companies Act
Eligibility criteria Statutory clearances required, own land/leased land, positive net worth, no financial default, audit clearances upto date, should have governing body with CEO and Board of Directors.
Financial assistance available Loan Component – 80% (maximum), End Borrower’s Contribution – 20% (minimum), tenure of loan would be a maximum of 10 Years
Implementing agency National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) and National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development (NABARD)
Application process The application along with Detailed Project Report (DPR) must be submitted to NDDB.

 

Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund

Activities supported Dairy processing and value addition infrastructure, meat processing and value addition infrastructure, animal feed plant including mineral mixture plant and feed testing laboratory, breed improvement technologies like IVF, Sex Sorted Semen, etc., breed multiplication farms (of dairy, goat, poultry, pig, etc.), setting up of veterinary vaccines and drugs production facilities and animal waste management facilities.
Eligible entities Individuals, Private Companies, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Section 8 companies and MSMEs.
Eligibility criteria Statutory clearances required related with the project (State Department of Animal Husbandry must facilitate clearances through single window), own land/leased land, financially viable DPR required.
Financial assistance available Beneficiary contribution of upto 15% in case of MSMEs and for other entities upto 25%, rest will be loan amount. Tenure for repayment of loan will be 8 years.
Implementing agency Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Government of India.
Application process Submission of application and DPR on the website ahidf.udyamimitra.in.

 

Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana

Activities supported Construction and establishment of hatcheries, biofloc, new ponds, cages, re-circulatory aquaculture systems, cold stores, feed plants, rafts, integrated farming systems, ornamental fish rearing, insulated and refrigerated vehicles, fish value addition, deep sea vessels, disease diagnosis and quality testing laboratories, etc.
Eligible entities Fishers, Fish Farmers, Workers, Vendors, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), Farmer Co-operative Organizations (FCOs), Joint Liability Groups (JLGs), Fish Federations, Development Boards, other State and Central Government entities.
Eligibility criteria Own land/leased land, clearances required for projects. For obtaining financial assistant of Rs. 3000 from the government, the beneficiary has to contribute Rs. 1500 annually.
Financial assistance available Provisions for availing subsidy both from Centre & state/UTs together will be limited to 40% of the project cost for general and 60% for SC/ST women. Tenure for repayment of loan will be upto 15 years.
Implementing agency State & Central Government entities, State Fisheries Development Boards or as and when decided by Department of Fisheries, Government of India.
Application process The beneficiaries have to submit DPRs or Self Contained Proposals to the respective District Fisheries Office.
